Accepting Online Bookings
The booking feature lets any business — a spa, nail salon, restaurant, or clinic — publish a public booking page where customers can browse services and request an appointment without calling. This guide walks through enabling it, setting up services, and managing incoming bookings.
1. Enable the booking feature
Open Website Settings and toggle on Accept Bookings. You need at least one service before the toggle will turn on — if you don’t have one yet, add a service first, then come back and enable it. Once active, a public booking page becomes available at yellow-pos.com/your-business/reservations, and the Services, Bookings, and Booking Page Design sections appear in your sidebar.
2. Add your services
Navigate to Services in the sidebar and click New Service. For each service you need to set:
- Name — what the customer sees (e.g. "60-min Massage", "Manicure", "Dinner Booking")
- Duration — in minutes. This controls how long each slot is and how many slots fit in a day based on your operating hours.
- Max concurrent bookings per slot — how many customers can book the same time simultaneously (e.g. 1 for a private session, 3 if you have 3 technicians).
- Price — optional, displayed to the customer for reference.
- Description & image — optional, to make the service card more appealing on the booking page.
3. How time slots work
Slots are generated automatically based on your operating hours. If you're open Monday 09:00–18:00 and a service is 60 minutes, the system offers: 09:00, 10:00, 11:00... up to 17:00 (the last slot that finishes by closing time). Slots that are already fully booked (based on max capacity) are shown as unavailable to the customer. You don't need to manually create or manage time slots.
4. What the customer sees
On your public booking page, customers see your business info and a grid of service cards. They click Book Now on a service, then pick a date and an available time slot. They fill in their name, phone, and optionally email and notes, then submit. They receive a confirmation screen and you get an email notification.
All bookings arrive with status Pending — they're requests, not auto-confirmed. You review them and confirm or cancel on your end.
5. Managing bookings
Go to Bookings in the sidebar to see a weekly calendar view. Each day column shows all incoming requests for that day. From there you can:
- Confirm a pending booking (green checkmark)
- Cancel a booking (if the customer can't make it or you're unavailable)
- Navigate weeks with the arrow buttons in the header
For a full tour of the calendar, the New Booking form, exports, and how to brand the page, see Your Booking Page & Managing Appointments.
6. Share your booking page
Find the booking page link in Settings → Store access. Share it on Instagram, WhatsApp, or print it on a card. Customers can also reach it by scanning your QR code if you set it to point to the booking page.
