What "table management" actually means

Table management is the difference between a POS that only rings up a single sale and one that runs a dine-in service. Instead of one cart, you get a floor plan: a grid of your tables, grouped by section (Main Hall, Terrace, Bar Area), each coloured by status. Tapping a table opens its tab — a running order you add to across the whole meal, close, and pay when the guests are ready.

The floor plan: your whole service on one screen

When a restaurant account opens the POS, it lands on the floor plan. Every table shows at a glance:

Status — Available, Occupied, Reserved, or Under Maintenance, colour-coded so a busy section is obvious.
Running total & item count — for occupied tables, so you know where each table stands without opening it.
Section grouping — tables sit under their location, matching how your dining room is actually laid out.

Filters at the top let you show only occupied tables (the ones that need attention) and a search box jumps to any table by its code — handy once you have dozens of tables.

An open tab per table

Tap an available table and you're in the ordering screen. Add the first round — starters, drinks — and tap Save to Table. That fires the round and the table now carries a running tab. Twenty minutes later the table orders mains: tap it again, add the items, save again. Everything accumulates onto the same bill, so the total is always correct and you never re-key an order.

Because the tab lives with the table, any waiter can pick it up — there's no "whose notepad has table 12?" moment.

Moving and joining tables

Real service is messy. Two friends at the bar move to a table; a party of four becomes eight when their friends arrive. Two actions handle it:

Transfer moves an entire open tab from one table to another.
Merge combines two open tabs into a single bill and frees the extra table.

Both take a couple of taps from the floor plan — no voiding orders and re-entering them.

Printing the bill and taking payment

When a table asks for the bill, tap Close & Pay. You can print the bill — an itemised check with the table number and total — and hand it to the guests. When they pay, you record the amount using dual USD/LBP denomination buttons, the cash drawer opens for change, and the order is saved as paid. The table flips back to Available automatically, ready to be re-seated.
