Description

  • Asterix: These Romans are Crazy! is a board game that can be played against CPU or a live player, taking turns on the same device. The game is played using only a stylus. The first player to cross the finish line wins.
  • When starting a game, two characters need to be selected for Player 1 and CPU / Player 2, the choices are AsterixObelixCacofonix and Vitalstatistix. For 2 Players mode the players also need to choose whether they want to play 1, 2 or 3 laps. Next, the player should choose one of the 4 boards: the village, the forest, the Roman camp and the coast. At the start of the game only the village is available. If the player wins a race on the village board, they will unlock the forest board, winning a forest race unlocks the Roman camp, and finally winning a camp race unlocks the coast. Each board offers 5 unique minigames, making a total of 20 minigames. Since the game is played by two players taking turns, all minigames are solo.
  • To make a move, the player needs to tap the dice icon, then punch the approaching Roman by sliding the stylus towards him. If the Roman does not get hit and walks off the screen, the player needs to try again. Once hit, the Roman will fly in the air and drop on a space, the player will move to this space. After moving to a space, the player can accept its function, or use a wild boar to ignore it and move 1 space forward. They can do this again for as long as they have boars. If the player has no boars left, they will automatically accept whatever the space does. The spaces have the following functions:
  • Green with 1 exclamation mark – play a minigame
  • Green with 3 exclamation marks – play 3 minigames in a row
  • Green with a question mark – play a minigame of your choice, you can choose a minigame from any unlocked board
  • Red with a lightning bolt – a thundercloud forces you to go a few spaces back, it is strongly advised to use a boar if you are here
  • Blue with a carpet – the magic carpet carries you a few spaces forward
  • Yellow with a boar – get an extra wild boar
  • As the player completes minigames they will earn helmets, laurels and bonus moves. Minigames have two difficulty levels: Standard and Expert. The better the player does and the higher the difficulty, the more rewards and the longer moves they will get. If the player leaves the minigame without finishing it, they will not move or win anything. Helmets and laurels can be spent in the Rewards section to buy character information and artwork.
  • If the CPU lands on any minigame space, it will not play minigames. Instead, a spinning wheel with numbers will appear. The player should try to stop it at a number as low as possible. The bigger the number, the further CPU will move, if the number is 0 it will not move at all.
  • If both players stand on the same space, nothing special will happen
